Title:            Specialist, Data Analytics
Salary:         $86,778 - $102,091 - $117,405 per year (pay range explained below)

Hours:         37.5 hours
Location:    1166 Alberni St, Vancouver - located on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy).

About the role
As Specialist, Data Analytics, you will be spearheading health data analytics projects that will support efficient and effective service delivery, as well as decision-making. You’ll be closely engaging with management, healthcare professionals and FNHA program resources to develop models, reports, and various decision support tools. With your technical acumen, you’ll be developing procedures and guidelines on data management practices, liaising with multiple teams and leadership to define project scopes and solutions, and contributing to the overall expertise of the Analytics and Financial Management team. This role requires collaboration with other pharmacy experts to handle health administrative data related to pharmacy and prescription drugs. 

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Master’s degree in fields such as Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Health Science, Health Informatics, Operations Research, or a related discipline, accompanied by at least 7 years of combined experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience   

Occupational Certification

  • Recognized data science certification or equivalent

Experience and Competencies

  • Recent, relevant and significant experience in leading complex analytical work, preferable in healthcare, using scripting languages and query languages. 
  • Experience with predictive modelling (usually acquired over a period of 3+ years’ - experience gained in professional, academic and data science competitions will be considered) 
  • Hands-on experience with analytical models, methods and techniques, such as regression and time series analysis
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard design software such as Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience with business intelligence, data warehouse technologies, with strong SQL skills 
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of analytical / statistical software such as SQL, R and Python (ability to develop and maintain python modules is an asset)

You may have experience in;

  • Experience in working with First Nations is an asset
  • Knowledge of Big Data systems and opportunities, challenges and risks as they pertain to healthcare is an asset
  • Knowledge of health related programs and services within First Nations communities is an asset 
  • Knowledge of the BC health care system is an asset
