About the role
Provides specialized expertise in crisis response and emergency management and the subject matter knowledge and experience to be able to offer advisory and response support to the northern team and First Nation communities. Leads the process of coordinating timely, relevant, and holistic supports the crises and emergencies in the region. Develops and implements crisis action and emergency response plans in partnership with communities and Nations. Oversees, mobilizes, and builds capacity in traditional and western methods of supporting and responding to crises and emergencies in northern First Nation communities. Collaborates with Nations to develop and maintain Nations’ crisis and emergency response processes and protocols. Maintains records and evaluates response process to improve services and inform prevention or follow up efforts.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be –

•    A Diploma or Degree with specialization in Public Health, Disaster and Emergency Management, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or other relevant health field
•    Minimum of 2 to 5 years of recent, relevant experience 
•    Experience in providing advice and recommendations to senior management on health or emergency preparedness
•    Completion of formal training or qualifications in health emergency management or emergency management is an asset
•    Experience working with First Nations communities and/or organizations is an asset.
