Title:            Sr. Coordinator, Wellness Initiatives.
Salary:        $72,841 - $91,051 - $100,156 year (pay range explained below).            
Contract:    Temporary - Two Year Term.
Hours:         Full-Time 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri).
Location:    Vancouver Island Regional Offices (Hybrid – minimum 50% in the offices).

About the role
You will provide senior coordination support to the development and implementation of a variety of Primary Care and Health and Wellness events, engagements and workshops for the FNHA in collaboration with First Nations, key departments of FNHA, and FNHA health system partners. In this role, you will also coordinate initiatives, resources and tools aligned with the BC First Nations Perspective on Primary Care and Health and Wellness, including leadership challenges, days of wellness events across the region, and sharing health and wellness stories and innovations region wide. Participate in developing and supporting primary care activities and coordinating with FNHA teams corporately and in the regions.  

In addition, under the direction of Regional Manager, Primary Care, this role ensures that primary care and health and wellness initiatives and resources are effectively integrated, organized and leveraged to meet strategic and operational needs of the Regional Health and Wellness Plan. Collaborates as a team member of the Primary Care team, with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve objectives of goals.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Diploma with demonstrated coursework in First Nations studies, plus 1 to 2 years of significant, recent, and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the regional health authority systems/services/services, and in particular working with First Nations individuals, communities or organizations on issues related to health and wellness.
  • Recent, relevant experience, at a coordinator level, in coordination, work planning, budgeting and implementation of activities.
  • Experience in project and/or events planning and management; experience in a health and wellness organization.
  • Experience in working with budgets.
  • Experience working with First Nations leadership and communities, working in community engagement and/or in consultative processes and with regard to First Nations issues and priorities.
  • Experience with developing and implementing work plans, health services and programs delivered at the health service or aggregate level.
