Title:                         Community Health Nurse, Fly in Fly out - Remote Nursing Stations
Wage:                       $42.22 - $49.09 per hour

Location:                 Gitga’at, Gitxaala, Kitasoo, Kwadacha, Lax Kw’Alaams, Tahltan, Tsay Keh Dene, Ulkatcho
Bargaining Unit:      PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada) 

*The FNHA is engaged in active collective agreement negotiations and rates of pay will be adjusted to reflect 2024 rates in the near future.

About the role
As the Community Health Nurse, you will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care for First Nations individuals, families, and communities, including after hours on-call care. The FNHA has nursing stations located throughout the province, from coastal to northern
communities. The nursing stations are staffed by 2 to 4 CHN’S working in full-time, part-time or casual positions. Part-time CHNs in nursing stations fly in fly out of remote communities on a 4-week on rotation on an annual average of 0.5 FTE.

Please note: Travel and accommodation will be provided for this role. Rotation length is flexible

•    Expanded professional role allowance up to $6,000 per year ($23.00/day) with Certified Remote Practice designation

•    Retention allowance up to $16,500 
•    Recruitment allowance up to $16,500 
•    Education Allowance from $605 - $3,850 

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
•    A bachelor's degree in nursing
•    Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
•    Working towards or are Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM is preferred. Must have emergency and or critical care experience.
•    Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
•    Valid Class 5 Driver's license 
•    An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
