Title:                      Community Health Nurse, Health Centres
Wage:                    $42.22 - $49.09 per hour
Contract:              Temporary, Permanent, Casual
Hours:                   Full - time, Part - time
Location:              Fort St. John, Lillooet, Lytton, Bella Coola, Stone and Toosey, New Hazelton, Salmon Arm/Chase
Bargaining Unit:  PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada) 

*The FNHA is engaged in active collective agreement negotiations and rates of pay will be adjusted to reflect 2024 rates in the near future.

About the role
Community Health Nurses (CNHs) in health centres provide a comprehensive range of nursing services, including health promotion and disease prevention. Their practice aims to build the capacity of individual, family, and community wellness. They work with communities to develop and implement relevant, culturally centred interventions, providing services in clinical, home and community settings. CNHs in this setting are not on call and do not provide emergency services.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent point-of-care nursing experience in a related or relevant field 
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license 
  • An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
