Title:                          Employed Student Nurse
Salary:                      $55,430 – $55,430 per year (pay range explained below)             
Contract:                  Term – March 31, 2025
Hours:                       Casual
Location:                  Northern Region Office – Possible locations: Terrace, Prince George, and Fort St John
Bargaining unit:       PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada) 

*The FNHA is engaged in active collective agreement negotiations and rates of pay will be adjusted to reflect 2024 rates in the near future

About the role
As the Employed Student Nurse, you will work in collaboration with other staff members and collaborating agencies to advocate that all CHN programming. You will provides direct nursing care to clients experiencing varying degrees of health challenges and acuity. And you will assess, record, and report on the health status of assigned clients/patients. You will be under the under the supervision of the Community Health Nurse.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be – 

  • Successful completion of 3rd Year RPN or BScN program or equivalent* and continued enrollment in a recognized nursing education program.  
  • Current registration with BCCNM as an Employed Student Registrant
  • Current CPR-C certification (includes infant resuscitation)
  • Immunization certification, or willingness to complete within three months of hire
  • Current valid BC driver’s license

  • Experience working with First Nations clients, families and/or communities is an asset

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements. 
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.  

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
