Title:                 Community Engagement Coordinator

Hours:              37.5 Hours, Monday – Friday (core hours 9am – 3pm)
Location:         Tsawout-East Saanich, Vancouver Island – Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy.

About the role
As Community Engagement Coordinator, you will – support the Vancouver Island Regional Engagement Pathways established to inform participation, partnership and leadership of the Vancouver Island First Nations in health governance and health system transformation for the improved health and wellbeing of our people, families and communities. The main responsibilities of the Coast Salish Community Engagement Coordinator include the following;

  • Coordinate Health Director Tables.
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support to the sub-regional caucuses involving communities within the area. 
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support to the Vancouver Island Regional Caucus.
  • Participate in health engagement activities of the Regional Health Authority specific to the area or sub-region.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be – 

  • A University degree with specialization in Health Sciences, Education or Social Services or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and professional experience
  • Relevant, recent and significant experience in the provision of coordination support to First Nation communities (usually acquired over a 3-5 year period), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
