Title:                         Community Health Nurse.
Salary:                      $84,217 - $95,728 per year (pay range explained below).         
Contract:                  Casual.
Hours:                      Casual hours.
Location:                  Health Centres - Various locations across B.C.
Bargaining Unit:      PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada).

About the role
As the Community Health Nurse, you will provide a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services (community / public health, primary care and home care) in First Nations communities. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. You will focus on promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting population health, as well as a focus on curative, rehabilitation, and supportive or palliative care. You will travel to various communities across the province.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have / be:

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
  • An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols.
  • Knowledge of nursing processes.

You may have experience in;

  • Public health, Home Care Nursing, Community Health (1 – 2 years)

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
