About the role
As the Community Health Nurse - Casual, you will provide a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services (community / public health, primary care, and home care) in First Nations communities. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. You will focus on promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting population health, as well as a focus on curative, rehabilitation, and supportive or palliative care. You will travel to various communities across the province.
Travel may include but is not limited to:

  • Lillooet Health Centre - Lillooet, BC
  • Lytton Health Centre - Lytton, BC
  • Yunesit'in Health Center - Alexis Creek, BC
  • Neskonlith HC - Chase, BC
  • Ulkatcho Nursing Station - Anahim Lake, BC

About you
To be successful in this role you will have / be:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in nursing
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license
  • An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
  • Knowledge of nursing processes

You may have experience in:

  • Public health, Home Care Nursing, Community Health (1 – 2 years).
